Introducing Nothern Kenya

Northern Kenya is a land of vast, rugged beauty—semi-arid plains dotted with acacia trees, volcanic badlands, and the jagged Matthews Range rising from the desert, with the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana shimmering in the north. The Great Rift Valley cuts through the region, adding escarpments, hot springs, and soda lakes to an already dramatic landscape.

It is home to the famous “Special Five”—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk—alongside elephants, lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs. Places like Samburu, Marsabit, Lewa, and Sibiloi offer a quieter, wilder safari experience, where community-led conservation makes every visit count. Here, the land is shared with Samburu, Turkana, and Rendille communities, whose traditions and livelihoods are woven into the fabric of northern Kenya’s wild spaces.
